The SelfControl luminaires have an automatic self-checking function, which allows the luminaire to automatically check itself at defined times. This includes a brief function test once a month as well as a 3-hour continuous test once a year. All luminaires in the SelfControl design are fitted with a telltale, the status LED of which lights up green when the luminaire is working properly. If faults are detected during a self-check, the display changes from green to red and appropriate actions must be initiated.

These luminaires are designed such that they can provide light for at least 3 hours from the battery fitted in the luminaire in the event of a loss of power.
