As well as its positive impact on the environment, the LiFePO4 battery we use has a longer life expectancy and high cycle stability, compared with say a NiMH battery. LiFePO4 batteries do not suffer from the memory effect encountered with nickel cadmium batteries for example. LiFePO4 cells can be put into temporary storage for much longer and are resistant to higher temperatures. Longer storage periods will only affect life expectancy if the batteries are fully charged or almost discharged. Because of their cell chemistry, LiFePO4 cells are robust and provide high levels of safety.
